Every business operates in a dynamic economic environment. To understand how it all works, this course provides an introduction to economic concepts, theories and analytical techniques. It considers both microeconomics (the analysis of choices made by households and firms) and macroeconomics (the analysis of the economy as a whole). Fundamentals of economic analysis and reasoning are key outcomes of this course.
Introduction to Management - 45h
The course aims to introduce to students a broad range of management issues and experiences faced by managers in current and future organisations. It relies strongly on a case study approach to learning to equip students with knowledge and skills which they can apply to fluid, and often ambiguous, work environments.
IT toolbox - 60h
The course provides an introduction to using IT tools in analytics. During the course attendants will learn how to prepare professional reports in text editor, perform basic analysis in a spreadsheet and present the results of analysis using presentation programs. The course content includes: text editors usage (formatting, templates, indexes, table of contents, mail merge), spreadsheets (formulas, importing data, pivot tables, visualization), presentation tools (templates, presentation design, slide mastering, animation, printing and publishing).
Calculus - 90h
The course is the basic study of limits and continuity, differentiation, optimization and graphing, and integration of elementary functions, with emphasis on applications in business, economics, and social sciences.
Business Statistics - 90h
The course will introduce you to business statistics, or the application of statistics in the workplace. The course starts with building up the necessary measurements needed to enable students analyze business situations in order to take appropriate decisions concerning these situations (Desriptive and Inferential Statistics). It provides students with skills for the analysis of business data. In order to accomplish the stated objectives, there will be great emphasis on applications using actual data and extensive exercises and examples.
Introduction to Commerce Law - 30h
The course provides an overview of the legal environment in which business decisions are made. An introduction to the general principles of law relating to contract and tort. Some aspects of the law relating to real property, partnerships and corporations will be discussed.
Accounting - 45h
The course exposes students to underlying accounting concepts and constraints. It helps them to understand how accounting system records business activity, and ends in preparation of financial records and financial statements. The course emphasizes the construction of the basic financial accounting statements – the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement as a prerequisite to Financial analysis.
Introduction to Finance - 60h
This course provides an introduction to the key concepts and analytical techniques necessary to understand decision-making process in the financial side of the business. Students will learn about time value of money, measuring risk and return, capital structure, capital budgeting and structure, and international finance to understand the importance of financial management and its relations with business performance.
Advanced Spreadsheets - 90h
The course provides an understanding of the use of basic and advanced formulas and functions in spreadsheets useful for conducting analysis on a variety of topics. The course will demonstrate techniques that are a standard part of everyday spreadsheet use in any organization. Course content includes, but is not limited to: spreadsheet automation techniques, editing advanced formulas, creating spreadsheets for forecasting and data modelling, preparing interactive reports based on various data sources.
Human resource management - 45h
Human Resource Management” in university lectures for business analysts examines the strategic management of an organization’s workforce. This subject covers topics such as recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and employee relations. Students learn to optimize human capital to achieve organizational goals, emphasizing the importance of aligning HR strategies with broader business objectives.
Soft Skills and Communication Training - 30h
Effective communication and presentation skills are key to business success. In this course students learn how to improve their verbal and non-verbal communication skills to build relationships and establish trust. Students also learn how to prepare and make engaging presentations.
Adnvanced programming for analytics - 60h
Using IT tools for automatic data processing is one of the most wanted skill of data scientist. Python is one of most popular language in Data Science and also one of the top programming language, that is mentioned in almost all job offers for business analytics. Python package has also the great community of users that will help the young analyst to solve complex problems. During the course students will learn: Python fundamentals, basic syntax, data types and structures, conditional instructions and loops, basic statistical measures, graphics creation and web scrapping with Python. The outcome of the course will be the development of the analytical project basing on data stored in open data sets or provided by social media.
Financial analysis & controlling - 45h
Financial Analysis & Controlling focuses on evaluating financial data to inform strategic decision-making and ensure effective resource allocation. This subject covers techniques for financial statement analysis, budgeting, variance analysis, and performance measurement. Students gain the skills needed to assess financial health, optimize operational efficiency, and maintain control over organizational resources.
Econometrics - 90h
Econometrics is a set of research tools used to estimate and test economic relationships. The methods taught in this introductory course can also be employed in the business disciplines of accounting, finance, marketing and management and in many social science disciplines. The aim of this course is to provide
students the skills helpful in filling the gap between being a student of economics and being a practicing economist. The emphasis of this course will be on understanding the tools of econometrics and applying them in practice.
Databases & SQL - 60h
A database is a collection of data that is stored in a computer system. Databases allow their users to enter, access, and analyze their data quickly and easily. The course will provide the set of skills for utilizing relational and NoSql databases for multipurpose applications. Course content includes practicing SQL language for data management, elements of T-SQL programming with R and Python extension. The course will also introduce NoSql data management principle and practical exercises for students’ skill formatting.
Marketing - 45h
The course serves as an introduction to the principles, concepts and theories of marketing, and how they are applied in everyday life all around you. The course will provide an overview of what types of skills marketers need as well as discuss disciplines within and related to the genre of marketing. Current trends, changes and controversies in modern marketing will be addressed and students will be encouraged to observe marketing in action and will be encouraged to bring their interests into the classroom for dialogue, assignments and projects as permissible.
Programming for Analytics - 60h
This course introduces the essential general programming concepts and techniques to a business analytics audience without prior programming experience. The goal is to equip the students with the necessary programming skill to be successful in the other courses in the BA program. After completing this course the students should be able to understand the basic concepts of programming, use programming language as a data analysis tool and design simple algorithms to solve data analysis problems.
Data Visualization & Storytelling - 45h
In this course students will learn how to become a professional at communicating business-relevant implications of data analyses. We will concentrate on most popular in business application visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI). Using examples from real world business cases we will demonstrate best practices for data visualization and data storytelling. This subject includes data visualization techniques, data analysis methods and selected data mining concepts. At the end of the capstone project, the students are expected to gather data, create data models, and design visual dashboards and data story for management decision, which would be useful for managerial processes.

It is crucial to understand some main marketing thoughts: Marketing is a battle of perceptions, not products and Marketing is not about selling, it is about creating value. In this course, students explore project management with a practical, hands-on approach through case studies and class exercises.
Geographical Information Systems - 30h
The course provides an introduction to the fundamental theories and concepts of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The course content will include data input, storage and editing, spatial data structures, analytical functions of a GIS, data output, management of GIS, and applications of GIS. Laboratory exercises will complement the theory presented in the lectures.

Data volume produced by enterprises is doubling every two years, but unstructured data alone does not make more knowledge. Data mining allows you to sift noise in data, select what is relevant and then make good use of that information to assess likely outcomes. Data-based management is concentrated on an objective development of the organizational competences and strategic advantages. In consequence, it allows to make decisions rationally and responsible in long perspective. Therefore, the analytical project is the course based on the business case study focused on utilizing data sources and data transformation techniques into managerial information. Students will be directed to work in groups to develop project, that consist of formulating the business cases, collecting data, processing data and information searching, and finally prepare visualization and story for management purposes. The tool used in the course depends on students’ preferences and should express the skills usage for business intelligence which students obtained during whole program of the study.
