In September and October 2022 the Educational Fair was organized in Rwanda by the EU Delegation. Poland received the highest number of stands since as many as six Polish universities (more than from any other EU member state) were represented: the Technical University of Białystok, the Technical University of Łódź, the Technical University of Poznań, the Silesian University of Technology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. Other states present at the Fair were Belgium, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands and Sweden.
On the first day, the fair was held at the Kigali Exhibition Centre. Representatives of the EU and individual countries had ten-minute speeches. Poland was represented by Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski and Consul Joanna Kruze. In Musanze, the fair was hosted at the INES campus (fr. Institut des Études Supérieures). Mrs. Joanna Kruze again presented statistics and visa procedures. There was also one question from the room about studying in Poland. Dr. Konrad Czernichowski from UMCS took the floor. As in Kigali, after the plenary session, the participants were invited to the stands of individual countries and universities. The interest in the UMCS offer was very high. The following week, the fair ended at the University of Butare. Only Dr Konrad Czernichowski arrived from Poland therefore he was able to present the university from Lublin in the plenary session. Candidates were particularly interested in studying Business Analytics and Data Science as well as in scholarships and the UMCS “Best Applicant Contest”. The exchange of experiences between representatives of Polish universities shows that some of them conduct continuous recruitment for English-language studies, thanks to which candidates can plan their visa procedures better. Some also offer starting the studies from the spring semester.
