Data analysis methods – lectures from visiting professor

The focus of business analytics has shifted from monitoring various metrics to supporting managerial decisions. Modern managers base their strategic decisions on insights from data science. This emerged data driven KPIs and measurability of success in new way. Data analytics started to play the role of the company success predictor and creator of the way a modern business is managed in the age of digitalization of everything.

We had a fantastic opportunity to listen a series of lectures from Professor Quji Bichia entitled “Data analysis methods” and “Business analytics” on May 25-29 at UMCS, Lublin

We discussed how data analysis reshapes the world around us. We were debating what that means for the prospects. The lectures presented data analysis techniques and their application to predictive analytics in univariate and multivariate environments. These methods identify relationships between different metrics and predict the optimum future actions. The professor elaborated how data analytics combines many techniques for the most accurate predictive results. Univariate and multivariate methods can be used in various industries from sales predictions in retail, and loan risk assessment in banking to analyzing and modeling nature phenomenon including medical applications. We discussed the methodology and use cases.

In 2020 Completed a PhD program at Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi, Georgia in economics on a topic of “The effect of group behavior on individual economic decisions”. Since 2016 visiting lecturer at universities like Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, European University, and others in the fields of microeconomics, game theory and data analytics. In 2018 visited WSB University at Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland through a teaching exchange program. From 2021 he took the position of professor at Business and Technology University. He participated in multiple research and teaching projects and conferences. He is the author of nine scientific papers and a monograph. From 2021 he took the position of global data analyst at FINCA Impact Finance, which is an international microfinance organization.
